Dr. Judy Kay Johnson was born and raised in Nebraska.  She obtained a Bachelor's degree in sociology and psychology from Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska.  After college, she moved to Minneapolis and began working on her Master's degree at the University of Minnesota.  She received her Master's degree in Theology and Biblical Studies from the Minnesota Graduate School of Theology.  She received her Doctorate in Clinical, Pastoral Counseling from the Minnesota Graduate School of Theology, as well.
      Dr. Johnson is an ordained minister who received a burden from the Lord to minister counseling to abused and hurting women.  She is founder and president of Lighthouse of Hope Ministries, a non-profit organization offering free counseling services that are faith-based, to those women in need.
     Dr. Johnson is married to her husband, Stuart.  They have two children and two grandchildren, Courtney Jean and Benjamin, who are the joy of their lives.  The Johnsons live in the Park Rapids / Walker, MN area.
